My deepest sympathies to the Wilkens family on the passing of your beloved Jeff. I had the pleasure of fishing with Jeff over the past twelve years, he was a kind hearted and good natured individual  who made sure everyone enjoyed their fishing trip.  He was a great friend, deck hand and an excellent fisherman. The one thing Jeff loved  more than anything else is his five beautiful daughters and grandchildren. He was always delighted to tell me about all of their accomplishments and how proud he was of all of them.  He loved each one of them so deeply and completely. Jeff until we meet again in the heavenly blue sea, wishing you red sky at night, calm waters and high tides. I will truly miss you my friend. Buddy

This is beyond sad news! I fished with Jeff on the Fishfinder for many years. I have fished on hundreds of party boats and he was by far the best mate I’ve ever had the honor to fish with. The world is going to miss him greatly!! I’ll always remember his kind, generous and welcoming nature. RIP big guy!

I had only recently met Jeff but feel I’ve lost a good friend.  He truly enjoyed his work and it was my pleasure to fish with him.  Rest In Peace kind soul.

To the Wilkens Family,

 I got to know Jeff over 20 years. He taught me a lot of things about fishing, about life and about raising a family. He always said that everything should come in moderation and that you should pay attention to the things that you need to pay attention to when you need to pay attention to them. 

He taught me how to properly tie a knot, he taught me his favorite knotand he taught me the worst knot.
 He taught me that real men wear thong tan lines proudly on their feet. 
To say that he loved you ladies most of all would be an understatement. He was so very proud of the women that you've become and what you've done and accomplished in your lives. I don't know if you understand how much joy you brought him throughout the years.
 You were his biggest achievement and he was your biggest fan whether you knew it or not.  The largest cheerleader and the best person to have in your corner.

 As a fishing buddy I see the impact he made on the fishing community just in the amount of posts he has and how many people are talking about him. 
 When my sons were able to fish, Fishfinder II is the boat we went on.  I never had to worry about them catching a fish Jeff was always there netting a fish and he made sure that they were safe 1st and foremost. He taught them the rights and the wrongs of the boat and he made them better fishermen in the process even better than me at this point.
I will miss my friend dearly.  I will carry him in my heart forever.
