John Ramsey of Dix Hills, NY passed away on September 13, 2012, in his 95th year. He was the loving husband of Jeanne and devoted father of Lynda Schram of Seattle, WA and the Late John Ramsey. John was the cherished grandfather of Tiffany, Chantelle, Gabrielle, Skye, Noah, Jennifer and great-grandfather of Isabella, Avery, Calvin, Edmee, Arrow and Gabrielle. A proud Veteran of the United States Air Force during WWII in the European Theater, then 2 years in the Berlin Airlift in Germany and 29 years with the reserves, retiring with the rank of Colonel. John had a long and distiguished career as a Captain with American Airlines for over 33 years.
A memorial service to celebrate John Ramsey's life will be held on Thursday September 20th, from 6 to 9 pm. Religious services at 7:30 pm with the Rev. David Czeisel of The Village Church, Bayville, NY officiating. Military Honors will follow.
