Josephine P. Giganti, West Babylon, New York, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026, at the age of 96. Josephine was the beloved wife of the late Robert J. Giganti. She was a loving and devoted mother to Kathleen Stubbings (Sam Bernhardi), and Joanne Richardelli (Michael Collins). She was a cherished grandmother to Robert and Camille, Eric and Jackie, Michael, Jeffrey and Ashley, and Alex and Laura, and a proud great-grandmother to Abigail, Sienna, Zoey, Jackson, Liam, Dylan and Olivia. She will also be fondly remembered by her beloved dog, Bella.
Josephine enjoyed many hobbies throughout her life, including sewing and making jewelry, listening to Italian music, and reading. She especially loved camping trips in New England and spending time boating with her husband on the Great South Bay, visiting Captree, Greenport, and Soundview. In her later years, she found great joy in the “Spice of Life” church group and remained a faithful and devoted woman of faith.
Visitation will be held in the Argyle Room at Claude R. Boyd-Spencer Funeral Home, 448 W. Main Street, Babylon, NY 11702, on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on March 18, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, 1434 Straight Path, Wyandanch, NY 11798. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery, 80-01 Metropolitan Avenue, New York, NY 11379.
Josephine’s love for her family, her faith, and the simple joys of life will be remembered by all who knew her.
