Kevin Was a great Person and a pleasure to work with. A great sense of humor and could always bring a smile to you face. My condolences.

Condolences to the Kelly Family

With our sincerest sympathy to Chris and the entire family. You are all in our prayers.

 I was fortunate to have known Kevin for 38 years. He was a welder on my first job assignment in Con Ed, and we worked together as mechanic and welder, then later as inspectors in Steam until he retired. 
Throughout that time he was always years ahead of me in experience and knowledge. When something was new to me, or couldn't be done the way Engineering requested it be done, he patiently took the time to explain how to do it or offer an alternate way of doing it. I guess it was 2 parts work experience, and 3 parts being a father of 5. 
I don't think I ever saw him lose his temper, except if the Giants messed up a play. Instead, he had a way of turning things around, to make them ok, and not such a big deal to him or whoever it was that had the problem in the first place.
.          On good days, as well as bad days, when all heck was breaking loose, it was take care of Business , and laugh about it later.
           My favorite was his response to irate members of the community, who were unhappy with us working in their neighborhood. (And there were quite a few over the years) They would walk up with pen and paper in hand, as if they were a reporter for the Times and ask "who's in charge here?" When they would ask what his name was, he would answer politely and friendly like, Kevin. Then if they said " Whats your full name?", they got Kevin Michael Patrick Aloysius "TEX" Kelly, now what can I help you with today?
 Before they knew what happened they were no longer irate, and would often say "Good morning Kevin" when passing the job in the following days.
Once our CCI made the mistake of taking an elderly lady by the hand to help her by our excavation and into a store. Having seen Kevin near by, she shoved the CCI and yelled out, Kevin, tell this creep to leave me alone!!

Yes, everyone loved and respected Kevin. He will be missed by all.Mostly he will be missed by you Christine, your daughters, and their families. All of you he loved more than life itself.
 I hope that your grief passes quickly, and that your thoughts of him soon bring smiles, instead of tears. He certainly would have wanted this for you.

Christine and family - even though I never met Kevin, my son in law Chris Brown always spoke very highly of him. He would say he's one of the few people who has known me since I was a kid. My sympathy and prayers go out to you all. May he rest peacefully.

Our hearts are all broken once again, as God has taken another family member a kind hearted sole and gentlemen.  Kevin you will forever remain in our hearts.  Your whistle will never be forgotten.
