Lydia "Lily" Nieves, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 14,2024 at the age of 91, surrounded by her loving family. Born to Juan and Josephine in NY, NY, alongside her brothers Juan O, and Juan. Lily lived a life filled with love, compassion, and dedication to her family and community.
Lily was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of many with her kindness and generosity. As Vice President of the Bank of Ponce, she dedicated an impressive 51 years of service, retiring at the age of 80. Her commitment and passion for her work left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Beyond her professional achievements, Lily cherished her role as a mother and grandmother. She leaves behind her adoring children Sandy, Charles, and Loretta, as well as several cherished grandchildren; Rafi, Jessica, Joseph, Nicole, Gary, and Amanda and great-grandson Brody. Her love and devotion to her family knew no bounds, and she was known for being an amazing mom and grandma.
Lily found joy in simple pleasures, often enjoying word searches and spending time with her beloved pet squirrel, Mackie. Her generous spirit and unwavering love for her family were constants throughout her life.
Lily is survived by her loving children, grandchildren, brother, and numerous friends whose lives she enriched with her presence. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her warmth, kindness, and boundless love. Lily was predeceased by her husband Rafael.
Though Lily may no longer be with us, her legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in eternal peace.

A visitation will occur Thursday, March 21, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 448 W Main St, Babylon, New York 11702. A funeral mass will occur Friday, March 22, 2024 at 10:30 AM at St Joseph's RC Church, 39 North Carll Ave, Babylon, New York 11702. A burial will occur Friday, March 22, 2024 at 11:45 AM at North Babylon Cemetery, Livingston Ave and Sunrise Highway S Service Rd, North Babylon, New York.
