Marc Elie Murat

Born and raised in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Marc was lovingly raised by his parents, Jacques Mirabeau and Catherine Elianie Murat. Later in life, he moved to Brooklyn, New York, where he built a life rooted in faith, family, hard work, and service to others.

Marc was blessed with a loving family throughout his life. He was previously married to Marie Francillon and Elourdes Simon, and through these unions, he was honored to raise and nurture multiple children. Marc instilled in his children the core values and beliefs that were deeply important to him, guiding them with love, strength, and devotion. His children held a special place in his heart, and he loved them deeply.

In 2013, Marc met the love of his life, Guerline Fleurima. Together, they shared a beautiful journey filled with cherished memories, laughter, companionship, and unwavering support. Their relationship reflected the values Marc held close—love, commitment, family, and devotion.

Professionally, Marc worked as a Security Consultant for Wells Fargo in New York. He was respected by colleagues for his strong work ethic, integrity, and selflessness. Whether in his career or his personal life, Marc was always willing to lend a helping hand and put the needs of others before his own.

Those who knew Marc will remember him for his kind heart, generosity, and compassion. He treated everyone with dignity and respect, whether they were lifelong friends, family members, or complete strangers.

Marc found joy in many hobbies throughout his life. He was an avid soccer enthusiast and loved spending time swimming, two activities that brought him great happiness. He also had a deep love for music and enjoyed playing the drums, often recreating songs that inspired him.

Service to his community was an important part of Marc's life. He proudly served as a Scout Master, was a dedicated member of the Freemasons, and participated in Lakou Dereal, a traditional Haitian communal and spiritual organization. His commitment to uplifting others and preserving his cultural heritage left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Above all, Marc was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. Nothing brought him greater pride than watching his children and grandchildren grow into remarkable individuals, each with their own unique talents and personalities. His greatest joy was being surrounded by his family, whose love was the center of his life.

Marc is survived by his beloved wife, Guerline Fleurima; his loving children, Jean Marc Murat, Gregory C. Murat, Diana Murat, Jeff Murat, Gerry Murat, Cliff Murat, Carmelo Murat, Darnelle Murat, Mirmonde Simon, Scherly Simon, Jacqueline Berrouet, and Djounie Doresca.

He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Gregory C. Murat Jr., Ronald Davis, Jeff Murat Jr., Yasmina Murat, Jasmeen Murat, Autumn Murat, Christian Murat, Cameron Murat, Evans Lubin, Maya Berrouet, Kimberly Berrouet, Carla Berrouet, Ethan Berrouet, Jasiya Johns, Kenny Torchon, Kelly Torchon, Jeffery Torchon, Kendall Torchon.

Marc is also survived by his loving mother, Catherine Elianie Fortune, who recently celebrated her 100th birthday; his siblings, Mondestin Murat, Paul Fortune, Mario Fortune, Arnold Fortune, Willems Fortune, Pierre Richard Murat, Patrick Murat, Marie Yolette Murat, Rose Marie Murat, Miryame Murat, Marie Fernande Murat, and Merline Murat; along with many extended family members, dear friends, and all whose lives were touched by his kindness.

Marc was preceded in death by his beloved father, Jacques Mirabeau Murat.

Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find comfort in the legacy Marc leaves behind—a life defined by love, generosity, faith, family, and service. His memory will continue to live on through the countless lives he touched and the family he loved so deeply.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Frederick Room at Boyd-Spencer Funeral Home, 448 West Main Street, Babylon, NY 11702.

A Prayer Service will take place in the Frederick Room at 10:30 a.m.

Interment will immediately follow at St. Charles Cemetery, 2010 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, NY 11735.

Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating Marc's life at a repast following the interment at Mirelle's Restaurant, 170 Post Avenue, Westbury, NY 11590.
