Hi Dad:  I was just reading John Dunleavy's obirtuary.  You were so blessed to have known him and call him a friend.  I know that deep friendship was mutual.  On St. Patrick's Day, March 17th, 2013 after you passed, John Dunleavy had you honored at the St Patrick's Day Parade Grand Stand and on national television as the pipe band played Amazing Grace in your honor.  Mom and I sat with the president of Ireland and his wife that day.   I was also watching video's of Mike Quill and remembered that I walked with you on the picket line during the NYC Transit Strike in 1966.  You also knew Mike Quill.  It is very important to remember that you were also good friends with Frank Bierne from MABSTOA and the St Patrick's Day Parade.  Today was a slow day at work so I got to read and remember... remember you and all you gave me and taught me and you made me a proud Irish - Americna Roman Catholic and AOH Brother.  Thank you Dad! Hi Dad!

As I'm sure you know by now, Mom passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 1:00 AM at Plainview LIJ.  I was able to spend time with her before she passed.  We spoke for a little while.  Joseph and Jim & Mary also spoke to her hours before she passed.  Donal visited her a day or two before.  

Wednesday night Mom and I spoke for a good while about her coming to America and folks back home.  Somethings she shared with me, I was hearing for the first time.  It was amazing how much she remembered.  Names I could not recall, she eventually remembered and reminded me.
