Phyllis (Gruenthal) (Peters) Butler, former resident of West Babylon, passed away peacefully, on September 29th, 2017, in her home in New Port Richey, Florida, at the age of 94. Phyllis lived a beautiful, full life. She was feisty, fun and witty. Not only was she able to find love once, for 45 years, with her first, late husband, Herbert Peters, but twice, when she married the late Thomas Butler, for 4 years.
Phyllis leaves behind her two loving daughters - Joyce (Walter) Spaeth and Jacqueline (James) Jack, doting grandchildren Wendy (Spaeth) Morrin (& husband, Tim Morrin), Peter Spaeth (& wife, Donna Spaeth), Meghan (Spaeth) Quinn, James Jack and Samantha (Jack) Martinez, and her beloved great-grandchildren Veronica Spaeth, Jonah Spaeth, Lauren Polchies and Brooke Jack. She was pre-deceased by her 3 adoring brothers Carl, Jerry and Harry Gruenthal, as well as her beloved beagle, Tippy.
Phyllis worked for DZUS Manufacturing as an inspector but she truly enjoyed life by traveling, dancing, listening to music and most importantly, spending time with family and friends. While living in West Babylon Phyllis was involved with the American Legion, specifically Sgt. John Sardiello Post, located in W. Babylon.
Phyllis will be greatly missed, but remembered dearly, by all who knew her.
