RJ was brave, he was tough, he was funny, and sometimes he was a bit of a punk when he was trying to be cool. But he was also kind, he was caring, he was protective, and a real big softie when it came to his Mom. RJ was what I wish my kids will be like one day, he was the brightest light in the room when he entered, he always brought the happiest presence with him wherever he went and not a week has gone by and I can feel the unfillable void you've left in our family and all our lives. You brought us smiles whether you tried to or not, I loved so much when I could share my games with you or my newest tech like when I would build a computer or get a new VR headset, you were always the last one to leave the house but we always knew when RJ was over he'sld be in my room playing some cool games. I promised to build you one someday, I'm so sorry I wasnt able to do that for you I hope you can forgive me. RJ always did his best to make time for others, he valued his relationships and time spent with the people he cared for, more than anything else. RJ was always ready and willing to help any of the people around him, helping older neighbors and family with work around their houses even if they wanted him there early he'd be there on time rolling up on some new bike(I think he got his vehicle changing habits from his Grandpa). RJ loved animals, his friends, his family, his girlfriend, and most of all, his Mom. Whenever he would interact with someone, even an animal, you could feel the warmth of his love even when he would try and be a funny tough guy. The presence you brought with you was truly the brightest I have ever seen, but I know that you are up there looking down on all of us as the brightest star in our sky  RJ, you left us way too soon, I will always miss you, I'm so sorry for all the promises to you I can no longer keep, I will carry those with me forever until I see you again. But until that time, I will never forget about you my baby cousin, I love you so much

I was heartbroken to hear about the loss RJ. As his teacher, I had the privilege of seeing a side of him that went far beyond his grades or test scores. What I’ll remember most is his incredible heart and his witty sense of humor. 

He had a way of lighting up when he talked about fixing things—especially bikes. It was clear that working with his hands brought him joy and purpose. He may not have always found his place in the classroom, but his curiosity, creativity, and passion spoke volumes in other, more meaningful ways.

There are some students who leave a quiet but lasting mark on those around them, and RJ one of them. I will always remember his smile, his gentle spirit, and the way he cared deeply for the people in his life.  

I will never forget him bringing me a BEC just because I told him his breakfast smelled too good to be eating in my class. Even though RJ thought that school was not his thing, he was a light in the class that will be missed dearly.

Please know that my thoughts are with your family during this incredibly difficult time. He was truly one of a kind, and he will be deeply missed.

I'll miss your smiling face forever,  I'll miss the  stories you would tell. I will miss the texts and when I picked you up from school you would always leave and tell me you loved me to hear that from my nephew it meant the world to me.  I will forever hold you in my heart, and miss you everyday until we meet again.
