Ronald James Besemer, 78, of Babylon, NY, entered into Eternal Life on Monday, January 26, 2026, at Northwell Health South Shore Hospital in Bay Shore, NY. Born in Jamaica, NY, on January 16, 1948, to Robert and Gloria (Penny) Besemer, Ron was raised on Long Island alongside his siblings Bobby, Gary, Dory Ann, Tim, and Brian. Ronnie proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1967–1968 as a Military Policeman with the 218th Military Police Company. He was stationed in Cam Ranh Bay, Nha Trang, and Tuy Hoa, and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for his service.
Following his military service, Ron returned home and became the beloved owner of Seabreeze in Babylon, NY, a cornerstone of the community’s nightlife for more than forty years. Known for his sharp humor, unforgettable stories, and welcoming presence, Ronnie built more than a business — he created a place where people gathered, celebrated, and felt connected. Above all else, Ron loved his family. He is survived by his children, Brittany and Brodie, and his grandchildren, Joseph, Ella, Forrest, and Edie, who were the light of his life.
