December 17, 1937December 5, 2018

Rose W. Casey (nee Murray), 80, of West Babylon, on December 5, 2018. Beloved wife of 56 years of Denis Casey. Devoted mother of Tara Fargione (Michael) and Denise Casey (Greg Blanton). Adored grandmother of Kathryn, Michael, Denis, Thomas, Mary Rose, Emma, Brendan, and Andrew. Cherished sister of Readie, Bernard, Maureen, Brenda, Robert and Francis. Predeceased by her parents, Bernard and Winifred (Callahan) Murray, sister, Joan, and brother, Thomas. Rose was born in NYC and attended St. Catherine’s Academy and Hunter College. She was a teacher at Our Lady of Lourdes Elementary School in West Islip, NY 1990-2010. Rose practiced and lived her Catholic faith. She was a member of the Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal RC Parish and Spice of Life group, The Catholic Daughters of America, Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Society, and a daily communicant. In her youth, Rose volunteered at the Foundling Hospital in NYC, and throughout her life she visited the sick and was generous to the poor. She gave her time to help others, buying winter clothes each Christmas season for many less fortunate children and bringing hot meals and clothes to a local homeless man on a daily basis for several years until his passing. Rose enjoyed reading with her grandchildren, walking, exercising, and spending time with her special pug friend, Clemmie. She will be missed not only by her loving family, but by the countless lives she touched as a great role model and through her many good works. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made in Rose's name to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Out Reach Program at: 1434 Straight Path, Wyndanch, NY 11798.
