Born on November 4, 1931, Shirley lived a long and meaningful life centered around family, creativity, laughter, and love. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Jay Kessler, with whom she shared many cherished years.
Shirley was the devoted mother of Richard, Kathy DeLuca (Richard), June, Robert (Nancy), Arthur (Deborah), Nancy DeMartino (Thomas), and Susan. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Aubrey, Angela, Richard, Anthony, Vincent, Robert, Ryan, Kristen, T.J., Max, Joseph, and Matthew, and was also blessed with ten great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy.
Shirley had many talents and passions throughout her life. She loved painting, cooking, and sewing, and was an exceptionally talented seamstress. She was known for her wonderful sense of humor — often sprinkled with a little sarcasm — that brought smiles to those around her. Sweet, caring, and deeply loved by family and friends, Shirley touched countless lives and will be truly missed by all who knew her.
Memorial services will be held at Claude R. Boyd-Spencer Funeral Home, 448 W. Main Street, Babylon, NY 11702 sometime in June, with details to be announced when finalized by the family.
May her memory bring comfort to all who loved her.
