

Stephen John Kish, 75, of West Babylon, Long Island, New York was called to his home of his Savior on Tuesday, March 22, 2016. He was born October 29, 1940 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania and raised in Vintondale, Pennsylvania. Beloved husband of Fran for almost fifty-five years. Loving father of Angela Winberry (Billy) and Stephen W. Kish (Barbara). Caring grandfather of Eric Winberry (Kerry), Valerie Winberry, Carly Denise Kish and Joseph Kish. The son of the late Steve and Mary Kish. Dear brother of Darlene Hughes (Lester) of Beaver, Pennsylvania and Meribeth Beneville (Stephen) of Charlotte, North Carolina. He is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews, and his loving cat, Twoey.
Stephen lived on Long Island more than fifty-five years, first coming to work for United Airlines at Idlewild Airport after serving in the U.S. Marine Corps after High School. After a short time he was hired by Grumman Aircraft and worked in Bethpage, New York the next thirty-three years first as an aircraft assembly worker and later as a foreman in Plant #2. He was involved in the production of the F-14 Tomcat and took pride in the performance of the aircraft which he helped to construct as well as in many other Grumman projects. His department installed the cameras in the aircraft used in the movie “Top Gun”.
In retirement, Stephen, an avid sportsman, enjoyed hunting in Upstate New York and delighted in teaching younger advocates safety and skill in the woods.
As many who knew him can tell you, he had an infectious laugh and truly enjoyed life. He also was an avid Catholic, an altar boy in his youth and a lifelong member of Our Lady of Grace Roman Catholic Church in West Babylon, New York.
Visitation will take place, 2:00 – 4:30 and 7:00 – 9:30 pm, Monday, March 28, 2016 at Claude R. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated, 10:00 am, Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Our Lady of Grace Roman Catholic Church, 666 Albin Avenue, West Babylon, New York 11704. Interment, with U.S. Marine Corps Honors, will follow at Long Island National Cemetery, 2040 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, New York 11735.
