Stephen Thomas Schaefer, 66 of North Babylon died suddenly on January 31, 2022. Beloved son of the late Jerome and Catherine Schaefer. Cherished brother of Patricia Andrews, Lawrence Brendan Schaefer (Eileen), Virginia Catherine Denien, Victoria Klauser (Kenneth), sister-in-law Arleen Schaefer, and the late Robert J. Schaefer. Stephen was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was a long time employee of Newsday and was a long term member of the North Babylon fire department and considered them his second family. The Schaefer family would like to thank all of the men and women of the department who supported Stephen over many years. A special thanks to Diallobe Reed. Family and friends may visit at the Claude R. Boyd-Spencer funeral home, 448 West Main Street, Babylon, NY on Sunday, February 6, from 2:00-4:30 pm and 7:00-9:30 pm. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10:30 am at St. Joseph’s RC Church, Babylon, NY. Cremation private.
