Suzanne Janet Hoerning

Suzanne was born in Mahopac, New York, to her loving parents, William and Margaret. She grew up surrounded by family and carried the love and warmth of her upbringing throughout her life.

Moving to Bethpage, Long Island, in her late teens, Suzanne met the love of her life, Joseph. Together, they shared 44 wonderful years of marriage, building a life filled with love, laughter, and family. They were blessed with three children, who were the center of Suzanne’s world and a source of great pride and joy.

Suzanne found happiness in the simple and beautiful things in life. She had a wonderful artistic spirit and loved creating beautiful artwork through rock painting. She enjoyed listening to music and attending concerts in the park, as well as visiting fairs and festivals. One of her particular favorites was the Hot Air Balloon Festival, which brought her great joy and wonder.

Suzanne had a special love for pandas and butterflies. She found peace and happiness spending time in her yard, watching the fish swimming in her pond. She also had a sweet tooth and loved desserts, especially finding a special treat along the way. These simple pleasures brought her happiness and were part of what made Suzanne uniquely herself.

But above all else, Suzanne loved her family. She absolutely adored her children and treasured every moment spent with them. Her family and friends meant the world to her, and the time she shared with the people she loved was what mattered most. She had a generous heart and a beautiful way of finding joy in everyday moments, creating memories that will be cherished by all who knew her.

Suzanne will be lovingly remembered by her children, Brian Hoerning and his wife, Jessie; Jessica Kollar and her husband, Matthew; and Matthew Hoerning. She will also be deeply missed by her siblings, Theresa Rorick, Thomas Schwing, and brother/sister in-law George and Gloria Hoerning,as well as her many cherished nieces and nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Suzanne will be remembered for her loving heart, creative spirit, gentle nature, and the happiness she found in the people and simple pleasures she cherished. She brought warmth and joy to those fortunate enough to know her. Her love for her family and friends was immeasurable, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.

Suzanne will remain forever in the hearts of her beloved husband, Joseph; her children; her siblings; her nieces and nephews; her extended family; and her many cherished friends. Though she is deeply missed, the love she gave and the beautiful memories she created will remain with them always.

Visitation will be held at Claude R. Boyd/Spencer Funeral Homes, 448 West Main Street, Babylon, NY 11702, on August 20, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.; August 21, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.; and August 21, 2026, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, 9 N Clinton Ave, Bay Shore, New York 11706, on August 22, 2026, at 10:15 am.
