Born on January 24, 1985, Tara was a radiant force of nature whose energy, compassion, and zest for life touched everyone around her. She was the loving spouse of Jessica L. Valente, devoted daughter of Patricia Berkowitz (Ronald Heuther) and the late Scott Berkowitz, cherished sister of Robert Berkowitz (Taylor), and an adoring aunt to Vivianne, Brody, and Easton.
Tara’s life was defined by movement, joy, and connection. As a Physical Education Teacher and Coach in the Roslyn School District, she poured her heart into helping students grow not just stronger physically, but more confident and resilient in every aspect of life. She was a mentor, a leader, and a steadfast source of support, both in the gym and beyond it.
Her hobbies mirrored her passion for life—dancing, boating, surfing, skiing, party planning, and traveling. She loved the beach, the sunrise, and the rhythm of music that pulsed through everything she did. Tara was the life—and often the host—of the party. With her laughter and radiant smile, she had an extraordinary gift for bringing people together and lighting up every room she entered.
Tara was larger than life, the glue that held everyone together. She was strong, brave, fiercely independent, and always a fighter. Even when her own strength was fading, she continued to fill others’ cups, to lift spirits, and to give from her boundless heart. Her loyalty never wavered. Her spirit never dimmed. Her impact will endure in the lives of those she inspired, taught, and loved.
Tara will be remembered for how she lived: fiercely, joyfully, and with love that never stopped moving forward.
