

Thomas Anthony Quigley passed away September 13, 2025 at the age of 85. He is survived by his wife and 2 children. Thomas grew up in Lindenhurst, N.Y. He was the second oldest of 4 boys. He played golf in high school and caddied at Bethpage State Park Golf Course. Thomas would walk from his home in the dark the night before to get to the course as early as possible. Thomas met Alice, his wife of almost 63 years, on the LIRR. They were both returning to New Paltz College after being on break. Thomas and Alice married in 1962. They bought their first house in Copiague. In 1971 they moved to Babylon Village. Thomas loved living in Babylon Village. Thomas taught reading in the Lindenhurst School District for 35 years. He was known to fill the halls with the aroma of freshly popped popcorn and for the “No Turkeys Allowed” sign on his classroom door. Thomas often wore a hat and a boutonniere to work. After retiring in 1996, Thomas enjoyed playing golf, following the stock market, and gardening. He was known for growing the most delicious tomatoes. Thomas had a habit of getting himself into (and out of) a lot of predicaments, which kept his wife and daughter laughing and on their toes. Thomas was very proud of his son for being a caretaker for Alice who has Parkinson’s Disease. Thomas had a unique personality that will be missed by all.
