Veronica O'Keefe

Veronica O'Keefe, 85, of North Babylon, formerly of Astoria, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 14, 2026. The daughter of the late Joseph Edgar Thorn and Katherine Feeney Thorn, she was born Veronica Mary Thorn on September 7, 1941, in Rockaway, New York. One of twelve children, Veronica was raised in Astoria, Queens, where she later met and married John J. O'Keefe, known to all as Jack, before they moved to North Babylon, New York in 1961. She was predeceased by Jack in 2008. Veronica is survived by her loving children, John O'Keefe Jr. (Michele Wagner), Dennis O'Keefe (Barbara O'Keefe), and Karen O'Keefe (David Siaca). Her memory will always be cherished by her nine grandchildren: Brittany, Jennifer, Samantha, Johnny, Joey, Kaitlyn, Kevin, Jason, and Dawn, as well as her thirteen great-grandchildren. She will be forever loved and deeply missed by all of them and by each life that she touched. The O'Keefe family will receive friends at Claude R. Boyd-Spencer Funeral Home, 448 W. Main Street, Babylon, Friday, September 18, 2026, 1:00 pm-4:00 pm & 7:00 pm-9:00 pm. Funeral mass 10:00 am Saturday, September 19, 2026, Our Lady of Grace RC Church, 666 Albin Avenue, West Babylon.
