Wayne M. Mortak, 84, of West Babylon, entered into Eternal Life on Friday, July 31, 2026. Retired Sergeant Nassau County Police Department and proud US Army Vietnam Veteran. Beloved husband of Dang. Loving father of Dianne Garelli, Michelle Young, and the late Wayne R. Mortak. Dear brother of Michael. Cherished grandfather of Katelyn Wiltse, Gianna Garelli, & Nicholas Garelli. He also served full tours in S. Korea & Thailand, where he met his loving wife of 57 years. He was also a long-time volunteer driver for Disabled American Veterans & a Lifetime Member of D.A.V. & V.V.A. Chapter 11. In addition, he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and many police organizations. Family will receive friends at Claude R. Boyd-Spencer Funeral Home, 448 W. Main Street, Babylon, Sunday, August 9, 2026, 2:00 pm-4:30 pm & 7:00 pm-9:00 pm. Funeral mass time 10am Monday, August 10, 2026, Our Lady of Grace RC Church, 666 Albin Avenue, West Babylon.
