I remember Billy as a child when my Mom, Dad and my brother used to visit, hang out with the kids and play outside. Billy always made my brother and I laugh. I remember his smile and warm heart the most. May you rest in peace and God Bless you always.

I always remember as a kid going to Aunt Marilyn and Uncle Billy's with my older Sister Jacqueline.  We would have fun playing with Billy Jr and Karen as we were all close in age.  Uncle Billy would clown around with us kids, work on trucks and cars with my Father Tony, keep my Mother Joann laughing hysterically and he seemed to always enjoy  telling me I was an ugly kid, even when I grew up into my teenage years.  Lol.  Great man and good memories having fun.  Love and Miss ya big guy.  Thank you for your Service to our Country and God Bless your beautiful family.  Matthew Bonura 

Just learned of Billy's passing today (1/7/20); I am deeply saddened.
Billy was a great friend and a caring person.

In February, 1969 I was in the Navy and stationed at Lakehurst N.J.; I was home (Ridgewood, Queens) on a "Liberty Pass" and NYC experienced a terrible blizzard. 

I called Billy up from my apartment (directly across the street from Billy's) and told him I got stuck in Staten Island - Billy said "I'll be there in a little bit." 

As I watched from my window, about five minutes latter, there was Billy going to his car to rescue me; I yelled out the window and Billy smiled and said a few choice words to me.

That was Billy and that is just one example of how Billy cared about people.

Billy was Billy. There was nothing phony about him and when he gave you his word, he kept it.

Billy taught me so much about auto & diesel engines and transmissions and also got me into driving an 18-wheeler.

Billy's gave me many pointers in smart and safe driving of 18-wheelers and my career in driving trailers led me to the great career I have today - Thanks Billy!

myself and dear billy go way backto my teen yrs and he was 
a best friend of my x husband for many yrs. and i recall passing them in the street in queens while walking to work on myrtle ave as they were always busy working on their cars and billy was such a comedian all  thettime.. and always made us laugh i have so many memories of him from yrs gone by and tho i hadnt seen him in many yrs. i spoke often to marilyn his better half... as we also go back 
he was our best man at our wedding  and tony  at his...so many happy times we had thru th e yrs... he truly was a prankster 
and will be missed so very much - my prayers go out to his family and  also my heart hurts as i sit hear crying.... he is with his mom and dad now and other family members... and also my folks who 
were crazy about him....too... i am now in my 60's so its many 
yrs of memories... may you rest dear billy and be a clown upstairs... and make everyone chuckle as u did with us... so many times.....

Bill, you were and always will be the last great love of my life. I don’t know what it was that kept pulling us back together each time you decided, not me, to break up. But for some reason we always found ourway back to each other, I guess that says something doesn’t it? I’m not sure what to say or do now. I keep waiting for you come back to my house after work opening the door and saying honey, I’m home. And then telling me I’m going to my office now. By the way his office was the recliner in my living room where he would watch TV at full blast because he couldn’t hear it but he always said he wasn’t deaf!  Every time I see a GMC white van coming down the street it always reminds me of you.
So now you are truly home. Rest In Peace my love. I will love you forever.

I remember Billy hanging out with Susie & I always thought they were soooo cool!! Then one day Billy took me out on his motorcycle down Montauk Hwy . It was sooo great.  He kept telling me to lean into the turn!  I was just soo cool until I went to get off & my calf touched the muffler!! Got such a bad burn!!Omg did that hurt lol.   But it's still a great memory.  So sad that he's gone. He's together with my Mom & Dad & Nana & Danny

I always thought of you as my baby brother even half jokingly as we got older. When we were quite young not only did I think you were my baby brother I thought you belonged to me. You were always agreeable to anything I wanted to do. One day our parents were going shopping in town and I decided you needed a haircut and since you were okay with it I started cutting and cutting and cutting and in the end you were left with a little patch of hair at the top of your head. You looked like a baby marine and you loved that haircut. Our parents arrived home and were shocked. They definitely did NOT love that haircut. Then we grew up and you were inducted into the Army and arrived in Vietnam in time for the Tet offensive. You had the horrifying job of recovering the dead and wounded while under fire. You made light of it by saying you were probably the only guy ever decorated without having ever firing a gun. You worked so hard all your life right up to the end.  You certainly didn’t look like a 75 year old man but looked strong and healthy and walked straight and tall but sadly that wasn’t the case. You’re gone now and I’m heartbroken to think I won’t see you again. I’m not religious but can’t help but hope Heaven does exist and when I get there I’m going to sit you down and give you a haircut-just for old times sake.

Bill was  the most curious person I have ever met. From his stories of his time in Vietnam and his insistence that I really missed out as there was so many interesting things to see their.  To our trip up to new London ct where my cousin was a commander of a nuclear sub. We went up for the change of command ceremony after the ceremony my cousin asked bill if he had any questions or wanted a tour of the ship. Anyone who knew bill can see where this story is going !  
  He gave us his second in command and we spent  at least 2hrs of bill grilling him as we walked the ship . Did you ever run into anything? Did you ever have a leak? Do you think this wall really  contains the radiation? What kind of food do you bring ? What do you do with the garbage ? Finally bill says to him, so I guess if you sink there’s no escape . They say oh no we have a whole system to get out,and goes through a lengthy explanation . After he’s done bill just smiles and laughs and says. “ look I was the military once and trust me they just tell you things like that to give you hope your not getting out of here”  as recently as last summer when I saw my cousin he asked how was uncle billy!   Gods speed my friend will miss you 

Dad...you always ranked on me with my shaved head...lol...but thought it was cool. I always loved when we were young and you ran us down the block in your big truck tires as we held on for dear life. The rides on the motorcycle, beating your butt in backgammon and getting killed in ping pong with your wicked serve that I could never return. Taking rides in the truck honking the horn, going to work with you and hanging out in the sleeper. The adventures on the clam boat and of course when you threw the crab at me and I fell of the back of the boat the night we were spiking eels. Cant forget how much you loved if we scraped the fork on our teeth eating and you pegging me in the head with a dinner roll.  All our crazy conversations and of course I could never win an argument or debate. You were one of a kind and I  could write a book on all the crazy memories.  It has been a wild ride. I love you very much. Merry Christmas in heaven with Nana Kells and the rest of your family. Until we meet again... ♡ Darlene

Bill, another memory I have of us is schlepping to some state whether it be Ohio, or Florida, or upstate New York to pick up another truck, van or car that you decided to buy simply because you were tired of the old ones. Our trips were very interesting considering the wonderful places we would stay to get some rest. For instance parked between two semi trailers at a truck stop along the interstates. And you always took me to the Best places to eat. The food was always delicious at truckstops of America, or Loves Truck stops.  So now whenever I travel I will always think of our trips together as wonderful memories of you and I. I will miss those trips and savor them and always wish you were with me again. Rest in peace my love and I hope you are in a great truckstop in the sky.

I can still hear you say, "Quit looking at me" as you smack someone across the back of the head.  Thanks for all the laughs,  kindness, debates (which you loved so well),  and for being my father's best friend. I will miss you terribly until I see you again.

Hey Uncle Billy its your nephew Jerry,let me first say i am so very sad at your passing but you are now with your mom and dad and sister Irene and brother Danny..You know i can still remember you riding me on the handle bars of your bike when we lived on Granite Street back in the 50s..You were a great guy Billy and i remember when you came home from Viet nam and visited my mom back in 65.You were in your uniform and only maybe 21 or 22.We hung out a lot over the years and i know you loved Muhammed Ali as i do and we would talk boxing.I have to say you were one strong guy you used to flip me around like a pancake whenever we wrestled.. You and Terry used to drive your motorcycles over to my parents house on 7th street,it was a pretty cool sight when you are young and see that..I never won a ping pong game against you,i just couldn't beat you..You came to see me fight in my 3rd amateur fight and told me you couldn't believe at how well i boxed,that meant a lot to me to hear you say that..Now this last memory goes way back..We lived on granite street and upstairs  from us you and brother Danny lived with your mother..I was upstairs one night and could not have been more then 4 or 5 at the time.Your brother Danny put a blanket over his head and was crawling towards me and i was terrified,you were hysterical laughing until Nana said to stop...I will miss you very very much Uncle Billy ,my sister Kathy said you would be coming out for a visit and i was so excited to see you again..RIP Uncle Billy💔

I love you dad, I will miss you forever....

He was my boyfriend for the past nine years. We enjoyed many trips across this country together. As we did this many times I would always plan out the places to go see. Many times he had a difference of opinion and his response would be “let me do it, this has to be done right”!  Even if I was fixing something in my house he would always say that to me. He was rough around the edges with a heart  of gold. I love you Bill and will miss you so very much.
