Loving son of Lois (Bill) and Bill (Diane). Brother to Meghan (Dan), Kerri, and Carl. Proud owner of Molly and the late Nelly. Beloved nephew, cousin, and friend to all.
Our grandma used to say, a stranger is a friend you haven't met yet. Billy lived those words. He was a charismatic soul who could charm anyone, a man with a heart of gold who would give you the shirt off his back without ever having to be asked. You didn't have to know him long to love him; he just had one of those personalities. He was supportive, funny, loyal, and giving. As Billy's final act of selflessness and generosity, he was able to give the gift of life to several people through organ donation.
He loved cars, cooking, gardening, music, answering every Jeopardy question, testing your patience, and above all else, the water. As a kid, Billy grew up going to Fire Island on the family boat, fishing, clamming with those big feet, and playing in the sand. As he grew, so did his love of the outdoors. So many people carry memories of him out on the boat, camping under the stars, or gazing up at the sky and questioning the universe.
No matter what challenges life put in front of him, he faced them with courage, determination, and an unwavering spirit. He had so much more to give to this world and was taken from it far too soon. He has left a “big red” void in so many people's hearts that will never be filled. We love you, Billy… forever and always.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Billy to Paws of War, honoring his love for and dedication to animals.
Visitation will be held in the Frederick Room on June 4, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
