Billy Joe Williams March 19, 1935 - February 5, 2011 Billy Joe passed away Saturday, February 5, 2011 due to heart failure. Born in Laurel, MS to James and Una Mae Williams in 1935. After his father's passing Billy moved to Bakersfield with his mother, step-father Pete Hurst, brother and sisters in 1939. Billy worked in the oilfields for many years. his last employment was with KSI Industries in Bakersfield. He loved country music, dancing, working in his garden and yard, and having barbeques with his family and friends. He is survived by his beautiful wife Stella, son, Michael and Robin Williams of Colorado; daughters Sherrie Williams Chase and Marty of Bakersfield, Dietra and Dale Rikala of Montana, Tammy McKammie Bridwell of Texas; sister Pat Carter of Colorado; step-sons, Rene and Rosie Martinez, Ronnie and Annie Martinez of Bakersfield; 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and many loved friends. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 9th from 4:00 to 8:00p.m. and the memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 10th at 1:00p.m. both at Mish Funeral Home in Oildale. Arrangements under the direction of Mish Funeral Home, Bakersfield, CA.
