Bobbie Jean Castleberry Sunrise January 10, 1925 - Sunset November 10, 2013 Our beloved mother Bobbie Castleberry (Hornaday) left this earth to join her savior Jesus Christ, and sing in the heavenly choir. Her passing touched lives, just as her living did. She left this earth surrounded by family, friends, caregivers and Hoffman Hospice who cared for and loved her. We remembered "Bobbie" stories, sang her favorite hymns and choruses, read the Psalms, prayed and celebrated her life. In her last hours her daughters Nancy and Judy were caring for her. Bobbie was born in El Dorado, Arkansas and moved to Bakersfield at the age of 18. She met and married the love of her life here and they ultimately made their home here. She worked for the telephone company for many years, took time to raise her family, then returned to work at San Joaquin Hospital as a central service tech. She retired from Bakersfield Community Hospital as a central service supervisor. Mom was a longtime member of Valley Baptist Church. She loved the church and found comfort in her faith. Mom was reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband Clyde Castleberry, son-in-law Tim Stephenson, parents Virgil Ora Hornaday and Ora Idell Hornaday, grandmother Lu Fannie White, Cousin James White, Brother Pete Hornaday, Uncle JB White, Aunts Lillian White, LaJoyce White and Vivian Hornaday. Along with other family and many friends who have gone on before her. Mom is survived by her beloved son Clyde Leslie Castleberry, beloved daughters Nancy Castleberry, Judy Lebon and Ora Jeanne Stephenson. Her beloved son-in-law Donny Lebon. Grandchildren Jason Pringle, Tyler Lebon, Kacey Lebon, and Brittany (Vieux) Lebon. Great-grandsons Cameron Donald Lebon and his baby brother who is due in January. Her beloved older sister Othell Pratt; nieces' Vicki Douglass and Missy Pratt; nephews Ronnie Pratt and Bob Douglass. Her dear friends Terri McDanel and Carole Quigley. Along with other relatives and friends. We invite you to join us in a celebration of moms life on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Mish Funeral Home 120 Minner Ave, Bakersfield CA. Viewing from 10-12. Services 12 noon followed by a brief interment at Greenlawn Cemetery on River Blvd. The family wants to extend a special thanks to Sharon and Carlene, her special caregivers and friends. Also to Hoffman Hospice nurses Christian and Ivy, Chaplin Jack and Amaryllis (who came and sang to mom). You truly represent the "hand of God extended" in your care and love of our mother. Thank you! Flowers are beautiful and always welcome, but in lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her honor to Hoffman Hospice or another charity of your choice. She would have wanted to help others as her final gift.
