Ruth and family. My sincere belated condolences. I had no idea. I'm sure many of us here in Colorado Springs do not know. To have known and worked with such a top-notch man is a privilege. He inspired so many. I'm sure God has accepted him and blessed you all. There is so much that can be said, but sometimes written words just are not enough. I share in your loss, but will always remember JD with great affection.

Your hugs were strong and filled with the scent of Old Spice &amp; Vitalis. Next to your chair, you always had candy or can of nuts for those moments when you wanted &quot;a little snack&quot;. You never took naps, but only &quot;rested&quot; your eyes. On my wedding day before walking me down the aisle, you let me know that I would always be your little girl. Being your daughter has been a blessing &amp; an honor Dad. I love &amp; miss you so much.

Growing up, I was your shadow. Wherever you were was where I wanted to be. You always said Contact medication was the answer to any potential cold & you never failed to tell me to cover up "those big feet" when you saw me walk around without socks. You introduced me to people using my nickname and carried my 1st grade photo in your wallet. You taught me the value in being kind, educated & firm when necessary. I am more like you everyday and am honored to be your Daughter. Now you are my shadow and I know wherever I go, you will be with me. I love so much and miss you. Happy Birthday Dad

Dear Darrington Family, we are so sorry to hear of the loss of Julius. We were honored to know him when he lived in Colorado Springs. Ruth, our thoughts and prayers are with you and family. I would like to express my sincere condolences to the Darrington family for their loss. I met JD in Cheyenne Mountain when he was in the Air Force and I was a civilian computer programmer. He was my liaison to the intelligence analysts he and I supported. His expertise was exceptional and made my job easy. I eventually brought JD into my staff after his retirement from the USAF. I could not afford to lose his skills. JD deserves a lot of credit for my own successful career.

Darrington family. I am so sorry for your loss. Julius was a wonderful father, husband, friend and servant of God. He left his mark on Payne Chapel and each one of you will forever be a part of the Payne Chapel family.

Ruth, I first met Brother Darrington when I joined Alpha Phi Alpha  Iota Omicron Lambda in 1996. I worked with his brother Jimmy and when I asked if he was Jimmy's dad he gave me a look; then laughed. Brother Darrington was always good to me and very supportive. He was a good man who will be missed.

Darrington Family, we are so deeply sorry for your loss. Brother Darrington was a special person to me and the young people at Cain Memorial AME Church. He will truly be missed. Wishing you as much comfort and peace as possible during this difficult time. God Bless!!!
