June Catherine Carrier

June Catherine Carrier May 29, 1925 - November 22, 2011 June Carrier was born on May 29,1925 in Hydro, Oklahoma to Fred and Imogene Shelton. She married the love of her life, Joe W. Carrier, on August 2, 1941. They enjoyed 60 years of marriage, until Joe's passing in 2002. June worked for Safeway for 25 years and retired in 1983. June and Joe enjoyed many years of camping in their 5th wheel on the Central Coast and Sequoia National Park. June was happiest when she was surrounded by her family. She could be found playing on the floor with her great-grandchildren, watching their sporting events, doing her word searches, playing cards with her many friends, or watching the Dodgers on TV. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, 2 sisters, brother, husband and beloved son, Joseph Frederick "Jody" Carrier. She is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Mack Wimbish; sons and daughters-in-law, James and Barbara Carrier, Richard and Anita Carrier; her grandchildren and their spouses, Rick and Leea Wimbish, Tina and Bryan Allen, Joe and Heather Carrier, Craig and Laura Carrier, Lora Gonzales, Craig and Teri Mungary, Natalie and Jeff Erickson; and her 19 great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Bakersfield Memorial Hospital doctors and June's special nurse in ICU, Jody. Visitation will be Thursday, December 1st from 4pm-7pm at Mish Funeral Home.
