Leslie Wayne Osteen

Leslie "Wayne" Osteen March 10, 1930 - December 14, 2011 Graveside services will be held at Shafter Cemetery , Monday, December 19th, for Leslie "Wayne" Osteen at 1:00pm. Wayne was born in a farm labor camp in Arvin, California to Clarence Osteen and Myrtle Howze Osteen. He came in the middle of the "Grapes of Wrath Movement". Wayne grew up on the farm and always loved country living. He worked for a fertilize chemical company for 25 years. Wayne also dabbled in farming, but the job he loved the most was driving the school bus for Lost Hills Elementary and Wasco High. He loved the interaction with the children. Wayne married Emma Lu Hamilton on March 17, 1951 and he leaves behind two sons, Gary Osteen and wife Adela of Bakersfield and Dale Osteen and wife Shelly of North Dakota. He also leaves 5 grandchildren, Johnny, Zachary, Andrea, Gregory and Crystal; plus 8 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind one sister, Helen Osteen of Bakersfield.
