Visitation for Marvin Daniel Kay will be held at Mish Funeral Home (120 Minner Ave.) on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 from 4:00- 9:00 p.m., and the Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. in the Mish Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will begin at the Mish Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday morning, September 15, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Bakersfield National Cemetery Wednesday afternoon at 1:15 p.m.
Marvin Kay was born on January 9, 1927 in Bronx, New York, to Emanuel and Tessie Kay. He passed away on September 6, 2010 in Bakersfield, California. Marvin proudly served his country receiving an honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy. Marvin worked in health care as a Psychiatric Technician for over 30 years. He loved date nights with his daughter and granddaughter. Going to see a classical play, a movie or out to a special restaurant were among his favorite things to do. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of his life, especially his great granddaughter Michelle who shares his birthday. Marvin is survived by his children, Graciela “Grace” Garcia, Isabel M. Kay, Fredrico E. Kay, Steven M. Kay, Sharon Kay and Patricio E. Garcia; grandchildren, Yolanda and her husband Raul Gonzales, James Pizano, Veronica Garcia and Christina Garcia; great grandchildren, Michael A. Rivas, Michelle D. Rivas, Vanessa L.
