Raymond Martinez Jr. 1945 - 2013 Raymond Martinez Jr., 67, of Bakersfield, CA, went to be with Our Lord on April 8, 2013. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on April 16, 2013 at Christ the King Catholic Church-1800 Bedford Way, Bakersfield, CA. Graveside Services to follow at Bakersfield National Cemetery-30338 East Bear Mountain Blvd, Arvin, CA. Raymond was born in Bakersfield, CA on May 4, 1945. He graduated from Bakersfield High School. After high school he proudly served in the U.S. Army. Raymond married Margaret on April 3, 1974. They were married for 39 years. Raymond retired after 31 years working for the California Department of Corrections. He went through the ranks of Officer, Lieutenant, and Parol Agent II. He retired in 2000. Raymond is survived by his wife Margaret; son Andy; daughter Tina; granddaughter Miracle; and his faithful buddy Buster; brother Henry Martinez (Laura); sisters Gloria Flores, Margaret Blanco, Mary Ramirez, Angie Ruiz (Henry), Dolores Benavides (Virgil); and numeruos nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Felipa Martinez Sr. and sister Sylvia Martinez.
