Ricky Edward Luevano Sr.

Born in Bakersfield, California to Santos and Herminia Luevano on December 3, 1965, Ricky Edward Luevano, Sr., lived a life centered on family, friends, and fun. In his youth, he enjoyed riding motorcycles and playing pool. He married his high school sweetheart, Sheila, and together they raised their four children, Ricky, Jr., Samantha, Jessica, and Daniel. In adulthood, he took pride in all his children graduating, becoming Grandpa to his only grandson, Aiden Ricky Mendieta, and his son Daniel’s enlistment to the Marines. Despite his quadruple bypass, having 17 stents, and being on dialysis, he remained his family’s gardener, furniture arranger, barbequer, and comedian.

He will be missed by his wife and children, parents, brother Santos and wife Michelle, sister Sabrina Reimert and husband Arlo, cherished brother and sister-in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and Corner Pocket teammates who were like family. The family would like to thank the nurses of DaVita Dialysis and BFMC.

Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, May 29th at 6:00 p.m. at Mish Funeral Home (120 Minner Ave.)

He’s gone from this world, but is alive in his family’s hearts, thoughts and every completed project around his beautiful home and yard.
