Bob Burdick, 66, was born in Bakersfield, California.
He passed away suddenly on Thursday, November 17, 2011.
He graduated from Bakersfield High School, class of 1963,
where he was an outstanding baseball player.
After high school Bob joined the Marine Corp becoming
a Sergeant and serving in Vietnam where he earned a
Purple Heart. Bob entered the California Highway Patrol in
1968 where he proudly served for 30 years.
During this time with the department he graduated from the
University of Redlands. He served in various capacities
with the Department. The highlights of his career were
when he served as the Public Affairs Officer and when he
was assigned to the Central Division Auto Theft Unit.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents,
Chuck and Pearl and his brother, Bill. Bob leaves
behind his loving wife Gloria Jean of 44 years; his daughter
Cathie and son-in-law Brian Escobar; grandchildren
Andrea, Jordan, Tyler, Nicolas and Louie; his uncle
Bud Bracchi and his wife Carol.
Bob was an avid golfer for over 30 years where he made
many lifelong friends. He was a past member of
Sundale Country Club and a current member of
Stockdale Country Club.
Bob was an extremely personable and generous man
who has many good friends. Bob's heart and home were
always open to everyone. Semper Fi Bob. We will all miss you.

November 28, 2011 at 1:00pm
at the Bakersfield National Cemetery,
30338 East Bear Mtn Blvd., Arvin CA 93203.
