

Twalla Irene Van Worth September 22, 1940 - May 18, 2013 Twalla Irene Van Worth, 72, of Bakersfield, California, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2013, in Bakersfield after a short illness. Funeral service will be held at Mish Funeral Home Oildale on Thursday, May 23, 2013, at 11am with Reverend Billy Woods of Cross Roads to Recovery Church officiating. There will be a reception following the services at 9600 Lacroix Court Bakersfield, 93311. Twalla Irene Van Worth was born in Owasso, Oklahoma to Raymond and Blanche Eggers on September 22, 1940. She went to high school at Bakersfield High School and graduated in 1958. She worked as an independent seamstress and housekeeper for many years until she started working for Kern Medical Center in Environmental Services. She worked there for 16 years until she retired. She was involved in the Rev Con Motor Club, where she travelled the United States and lived her life dream of going to Canada. She enjoyed crocheting, playing with children and grandchildren, and riding on motorcycles. Twalla is preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Blanche Eggers, her sister Gail (Eggers) Cotton, and her husband Alvin Van Worth. Twalla is survived by her son Mark Van Worth and daughter in law Krystal (Ball) Van Worth of Bakersfield, Brother Harold Eggers of Bakersfield and several grandchildren, and a great-grandchild, as well as nieces and nephews. She also was a special part of the Griffith family for many years with her fiance Jim and several children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren in Bakersfield. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Social Worker Jasmine Whittenberg, the staff of Mercy Southwest Hospital and many family and friends that supported our family through this difficult time.
