On November 1, 2021, Charles William Derickson Jr. passed away at the age of 68. Charles was born in Battle Creek, MI. He studied Business and graduated in 1973 from Eastern Technical High School in Essex, MD. He went on to have a successful career in marble manufacturing at Stone Panels in Denison, Texas. He was an avid collector of 60's and 70's music and had a passion for vintage sports cars.
Charles was the dear brother of Carletta Lee Betz, Danni Jae Labrador and Dean Clark Derickson; beloved uncle to his nephews, Robert Betz Jr., Raymon James Oliphant, Matthew Daniel Oliphant, Justin James Betz, and niece, Sarah Elise Labrador; loving great-uncle to Caiden Jacob Oliphant, Gianna Lynn Oliphant, and Landon Matthew Oliphant. He is preceded in death by his birth mother Jean Marie Basehart, his father, Charles William Derickson Sr., and his step mother Thelma Danette VanNort.
Chuck loved his family fiercely. Although he will be missed dearly, we take comfort in knowing he is in Heaven's embrace.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit at Charles S. Zeiler and Son Inc., 6224 Eastern Ave. Baltimore, MD 21224 on Saturday, November 6, 2021, from11AM-12PM, where a Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow at Moreland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Chuck's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl. Memphis, TN 38105.
