Jason & Family - I just read of your loss in the CHC Newsletter and wanted to find a way to contact you and send my deepest condolences.  Looking at the pictures, Heaven has one happy little guy up there.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I am so sorry for your loss but at least now he is in a better place. He always loved to tell jokes and play sports. His smile and inspiration really left a permanent mark on my heart for his determination and strength to live. He will always be loved and missed by so many. He is your guardian angel now.

My children Evan and Olivia Reilly attend St. Thomas Aquinas and spoke fondly of Gavin.  They are truly heart broken over this tragedy.  I have personally experienced the loss of a 6 yr old daughter 14 years ago.  I know what you are going through.  Please know if you ever need someone to talk to, I am here (Dawn).

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Jennifer, I know your heart is aching and words cannot heal that pain. I pray you find strength through the loving memories of your little boy and hold his spirit tight. My love and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

I was one of the unlucky ones it appears, not to have ever met Gavin. My heart breaks for you and your family in such a time of despair. I will never forget how exciting a party was when Gavin was there to entertain us all. He was such a great kid and I have so many happy memories with him. It was always so wonderful sitting down to have a conversation with him, it was like I was talking to someone my own age, he was always so mature. I always enjoyed seeing the smile on his face and how excited both he and Lexi were when we brought her back to visit him. And of course I will never forget how much fun Gavin had at my wedding and how wonderful it was to have him there to celebrate that extremely special day. To Jason, Jen and the entire family I send my deepest sympathy and want you all to know that you are and will remain in my heart, thoughts and prayers.

It was always a highlight of my day when I saw Gavin on the playground or in the hallway.  I always asked him, "How are you feeling?" He would always say,"Good."  I told him if he needed anything I would help him.  He smiled and said ,"Okay."  He was a delightful child with a warmth and quiet strength.  I will miss him. Jen and Family, My deepest sympathies go out to you.  Gavin was an incredible little guy.  I always thought of him as our little man because he was so wise beyond his years. My deepest sympathy to the parents and family of Gavin Jacobs.
I knew Gavin only through his trips to MRI at Hopkins. I did his last MRI scan a few weeks ago and he was just as bubbly as always. We also prayed continuously for him at church at Oak Grove.  I am grateful to know he fought the good fight and is resting in peace. We will keep you in prayer in the days ahead.  May you all find the strength for tomorrow in the love that surrounds you today.
