Jamie was the last of 10 children born to L. Brent Bozell and Patricia Buckley Bozell of Washington, DC. He is survived by the love of his life, his dear wife, Julie Dawn Bozell; five brothers, Chris (Mary), Father Michael, Brent (Norma), Johnny (Carmen) and Willie; and three sisters, Maureen, Aloise and Patricia. His oldest sister, Kathy (Cy), passed away in June 2024. Jamie also leaves behind a very loving brood of 25 nieces and nephews, and 55 great nieces and nephews.
Born in Washington, DC, Jamie spent his younger years at the family home called Montejurra in Rappahannock County, VA where he attended Wakefield Country Day School. He graduated in 1986 from Trivium School in MA. Jamie and Julie lived their 25 years together in Hagerstown, MD.
Jamie will be remembered for his unbending defense of the Catholic faith, his innate grasp of what was truly important in life, and his unique joyful attitude in the face of adversity. Jamie was always ready to joke and inclined to mirth, happy to see those around him share in the fun and laughter. His shock of red hair and broad smile revealed a hidden joy and a tender, selfless soul, open to all. He prized his godparents, Mike and Mary Jo Lawrence, and godchildren, Caitlin Manaois and Noah Bozell, above all.
One cannot separate Jamie from his deep love of animals, which he shared with Julie. Until very recently, they were constantly accompanied by an assortment of loved and loving pets, of which their two special dogs, Baylee and Myles, were favorites.
Thus, in lieu of flowers, it is Jamie’s and Julie’s wish that we donate to our favorite Humane Society or Rescue Shelter so that animals can receive the love and care they deserve.
Friends and family are welcome to attend the Funeral Mass at the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament, 3630 Quesada St., Washington, DC, at 11:00 AM on February 28, 2025. Visitation will be held at Blessed Sacrament one hour prior.
