Joan Marie Miller

Joan Marie Miller passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025. She is the beloved wife of the late John Leroy Miller; devoted mother of Daniel Miller and his wife Arlene, and John Miller and his wife the late Dodie; cherished grandmother of Heather, Alec, and Madeline; dear sister of Janet Royer and Susan Goodrich; cherished " Sis" of Joyce Bilger. Joan is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends .

A devoted mother, Joan's life was defined by her unwavering care—not just for her sons, but for everyone fortunate enough to know her. Whether offering a listening ear, a home-cooked meal, or a simple act of kindness, Joan was always there, quietly supporting those around her.

Joan had a gift for bringing people together. She was well known for organizing bus trips to Williamsburg and Pennsylvania, creating lasting memories for friends and family alike. The holidays were especially dear to her—beginning in November, her kitchen would come alive with the comforting scent of homemade Christmas cookies and her famous holiday chocolates, especially her beloved peanut butter balls, which were a favorite of many.

She found joy in simple pleasures: duckpin bowling, the occasional thrill of a casino visit, working with her hands in ceramics. Through these pastimes, she built friendships, shared laughter.

Joan’s life was a testament to the power of love, community, and selfless giving. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all she touched—with every Christmas cookie baked, every ceramic painted, and every story shared on a bus trip.

She was, and will always be, a true caregiver, a dear friend, and the heart of her family.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Burgee-Henss-Seitz Funeral Home Inc., 3631 Falls Road, Baltimore, Maryland 21211 on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM , where Celebration of Life services will take place on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at 11:00 AM.
