Kimberly was a woman of many passions and a wonderfully distinct yet simple personality. She had an extraordinary mind for the past, with an incredible memory that allowed her to effortlessly recall the names of people from years gone by.
Those who knew her well will always remember the things that brought her the greatest joy. Kimberly was an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles, always cheering on her team. She had a deep love for classic television, regularly winding down with the timeless humor of I Love Lucy, Little House on the Prairie and The Beverly Hillbillies. Her playful spirit shone through in her favorite cartoons, especially Powerpuff Girls and The Flintstones.
She also possessed a unique collector's eye, finding great joy in gathering all types of watches, and she was always up for a favorite pastime: a good shopping trip to Walmart followed by a meal at Wendys.
Even though Kimberly faced special challenges, her independence was of paramount importance to her and her family. Later in life, she lived life on her own terms with determination and grace. Her family is profoundly grateful to the dedicated team at The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region, whose tremendous support and care helped her thrive and maintain the independence she so highly valued.
Kimberly’s bright spirit, remarkable memory, and joyful love for the simple pleasures of life will be deeply missed but forever celebrated by all who knew her. Kimberly was devoted sister of Timothy P. Shipley and his wife Sybil and the late John E. Shipley, Jr. and Shirley M. Shipley and sister Sharon L. Shipley; beloved aunt of Elizabeth A. McLaughlin, Shawn F. Higgins, Jr., Nicole A. Shipley Conti, Alexandra M. Shipley McElroy; great aunt of Olivia K. Malle, and Emelia M. McElroy.
The family will receive friends in the Burgee-Henss-Seitz Funeral Home, 3631 Falls Road, Baltimore, Maryland 21211 on Monday, July 20, 2026 from 11 to 1pm and 3 to 5pm at which time Kimberly’s life will be celebrated at 4 PM. Interment is private at a later date.
