
Marilou Suguitan Calderon, 58, of Hanover, Maryland, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2025. Born in Cebu City, Philippines, on May 2, 1967, she was a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend whose kindness and warmth touched all who knew her.
Marilou is survived by her devoted husband, Santos Calderon, and her cherished son, Santos Adam Calderon. She is also survived by her siblings Adrianne Silver (Joel Silver) and Mel Suguitan (Adeline Suguitan); nieces Arianne Suguitan and Tamara Buenrostro-Suguitan (Rudy Buenrostro-Suguitan); nephews Patrick Mauricio and Mel Suguitan II (Maria Arevalo Suguitan); sisters-in-law Dalia Calderon, Dita Calderon, Maritza Ranere, and Marisol Calderon; brothers-in-law Nelson Calderon, Marvin Calderon, and John Silver (Sveta Silver); her biological mother, Jean Falkenhagen; and many cousins, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Lolita Suguitan and Melecio Suguitan, her father Edgar Bonpua, and her grandparents Bonpua Tio and Gregoria Bonpua.
Marilou will be remembered for her joyful spirit and her many passions. She loved tending to her garden, baking and cooking (especially her famous Christmas cookies), and caring for her cats, who brought her endless joy. She had an unforgettable laugh that could fill a room and brighten the day of anyone around her. Her deep faith, strong devotion to family, and loyalty to her friends defined the way she lived her life.
She built a meaningful career in the casino industry, working at Trump Marina from 1989 to 2011 and at Live! Casino from 2013 until the present, where she also served as a game tables instructor for eight years. Her professionalism, work ethic, and generosity of spirit earned her the admiration and respect of colleagues and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Trinity Alliance Church, 101 S. Cologne Ave, Egg Harbor City, New Jersey. Family and close friends may gather for visitation from 12:00–1:00 pm, with the service beginning at 1:00 pm.
