Sara’s life journey was a novelist’s dream: full of adventure, twists and turns, and an insatiable thirst for the unconventional. Of those who knew her, most wished they had a bit of Sara in them. Her love of the arts, friends and competitive sports (diving and tennis) shaped her youth and carried her to Savannah College of Art and Design, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in fine art photography in 2010. Her photography was compelling, provocative and beautiful in its artistry, a reflection of who she was and how she saw the world.
Although Sara’s life could be defined by milestones achieved, her true essence can only be described as passionate—passion for her family, her friends, her pets and the arts. She came into this world on July 21, 1988 and passed on January 30, 2021, much too soon.
Sara leaves behind her parents Lynn and Dan, her brother Brian, grandmother Sue, her uncle George Koryta (Julie), aunts Laura Moehling (Glenn), Lisa Wortsmann (Mark), Louise Koryta and Nancy Mueller, many cousins and her beloved dog, Kona.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring. Invitations are forthcoming.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Sara’s name to the charity of your choice.
