I was sorry to hear of Steve's passing.  He supervised my work on tax issues for many years.  He was always helpful and a good friend.  He had many good stories to share.

Dear Sallie,

Steve may have never made it to South Dakota, but he sent me there.  I was one of the first female trial attorneys in the Western section of the Tax Division.  He was the assistant section chief then, and eventually became a dear friend.  Please accept my condolences for the loss of this wonderful man.
