Carl was born in Marwayne Alberta, son of Edward and Evelyn Quist. He grew up in Alberta and British Columbia, and moved throughout BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan throughout his adult life, finally returning to Barrhead from Stony Plain about a year ago.
Carl grew up playing his 2 favourite sports - lacrosse and hockey. He continued playing and coaching hockey for many years, as well as watching his favourite team - the Toronto Maple Leaf’s. His other passion was playing the guitar and he had started strumming again before he passed.
Carl at various times through his working life was a rancher, farmer, business man, trucker; and after retirement, continued keeping himself busy maintaining their home, yard and garden and doing odd jobs for the neighbors, well into his 80’s. Carl loved carpentry and made many keepsakes that will be cherished by his family.
Carl will be deeply missed by his family Ryan (Sandy) Quist, Judy (Ken) Davison; his grandchildren, Jessica (Justin), Amy & Angie; and his great grandchildren, Mason and Emilia; and sister Anne (Ally) McEwan, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Carl was pre-deceased by his wife Lois, his parents and other siblings. The Family would like to extend thanks for all of the care and compassion the Staff at the Barrhead Hospital, as well as the Hillcrest Lodge provided.
A small family memorial will take place at Marwayne, Alberta in the spring.
