OBITUARY

Darlene Joyce Whiting

December 22, 1945February 5, 2021

With heavy hearts, the family of Darlene Joyce Whiting announce her peaceful passing on February 5, 2021 at the age of 75 years in the Dr. W.R.Keir Barrhead Continuing Care Centre.

Darlene is lovingly remembered by her two devoted sons, Trent and Trevor, and their wives Janine and Rae, whom she always treated like her daughters. Darlene will be greatly missed by her precious grandchildren Jocelyn, Shaelyn, Brandon (Alix), Alanah and Tanner. Her grandchildren were the most important people in her life, and she spent many hours attending any event they were involved in and teaching them important life lessons.

Also left to mourn her passing are her loving mother Isabel Hove, and her siblings Dorothy, Donny (Irene) and Diane (Franz) as well as the extensive Whiting family and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. Her loss will leave a void in all our lives.

Darlene was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband Gordon, and her father Carl Hove. We know there will be many card games played now that they are reunited.

Darlene’s family would like to sincerely thank all the staff at Dr. Keir Care Centre. The kindness, compassion and love they showed to Mom during her stay was unparalleled. Donations in Darlene’s memory can be made to Dr. W.R.Keir Barrhead Continuing Care Centre, 5336 59 Ave., Barrhead AB T7N 1L2

Our loss is indescribable, but her unwavering love, friendship, loyalty, and valuable lessons will always live in us.

To Trent, Trevor and your families
Donny and I are very sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. We have so many good memories of your mom and dad. As youngsters our children loved to visit your mom and dad. We all had so much fun with them, skidooing, skiing, playing cards, or just enjoying a coffee together.
Your mom and dad were very community minded people and were missed by our community when they moved.
This is a lovely photo of your mom. It’s just how I remember her, always happy, always smiling!
Take care and know that you are in our thoughts. ❤️

Sincere condolences Trevor, Trent, and your families.
We have so many great memories of Darlene, and your family.
When I think of Darlene I immediately picture beautiful colourful flower beds and a bountiful garden. She cooked beautiful meals, and her baking was sublime. She was immensely talented, and a dedicated homemaker, mother, wife, and friend. Our boys loved to visit, and she was always quick to offer support both to friends and her community. Well done, and Godspeed. ♥️

RIP Darlene. We were so sad to hear this news. But we feel so fortunate to have had you and your family as next door neighbors as your boys were growing up here at Worsley. As I am sad thinking about missing you; I also have such good memories of adventures we had and crafts we pursued. Darlene was always so proud and close to her sons and daughter-in-laws and grandchildren. It was awe inspiring! ❤️ You were such a talented, happy, sunny person to have as a friend we know we were very lucky to have known you! Our Deepest Condolances to Trent & Janine & girls and Trevor & Rae and family. Also Our Deepest Condolences to Darlene's Mom and siblings.
