With heartbreaking sadness, we announce the passing of Dustin Reddon on March 12.2025 after a short but fiercely fought battle with the serial killer known as cancer. True to his unbelievable character and integrity, he faced this battle with strength, stoicism, and even a touch of humor that was deeply ingrained in his character… a reminder of his resilience in even the darkest moments.
He was a devoted husband, dad, son, brother, and friend whose energy, sharp wit, humor, integrity, and kind heart, left an unforgettable impact on those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Born in Calgary Alberta on June 18th, 1986, although much too short, Dustin lived a full life full of happiness, family and personal fulfillment, and an immense passion for living in the moment. He is survived by his loving wife and soulmate Shandy, his pride and joy, son Colby, and daughter Sydney, his dad Wayne (Marina), mom Sandi (Keith), Brother Colton (Alida), sisters Jenna (Cam) and Bailey (Cody), nieces and nephews Braxden, Mira, and Kase, and many’ many other relatives and friends…all of who will carry on his legacy of integrity, love of life, appreciation of humor and love of family.
Dustin’s passion for life was evident in everything he did … from his love of playing and coaching hockey,( both life and hockey skills being equally as important) his work, to enjoying his time at his home and happy place on the lake. He truly did love his life … His genuine and caring character left a strong and lasting impression on all who knew him. Our legacy often a defining gauge of our life on this earth, and if so, no one has lived better.
“There is sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are messages of overwhelming grief, of deep contrition, and of unspeakable and unconditional love”
At Dustin’s request, a traditional funeral will not be held at this time, but rather that a “big ___BLEEP’IN__ party, where everyone can tip a Jack in honor” will be planned to be held at his happy place community hall on the lake this summer. Down N' Dirty for Dusty will be on Saturday July 11, 2026 at The Estates at Waters Edge. Although saying goodbye was not easy, he wanted everyone he knew to know, like Winnie the Pooh, how lucky he was “to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard”
To honor Dustin’s memory, be happy, take a chance, laugh, be part of a team, and above all, enjoy life … “til you can’t”
