Sending thoughts, prayers and deepest sympathies to Ian’s family, friends and all who knew and loved Ian. Although the years have come and gone, I have similar memories already shared by my classmates of Ian during the time I lived in Swan Hills. A laugh that had a ripple effect on others, a wittiness that could cut the tension in a room and a spirit like no other, Ian loved the great outdoors, Alberta and was always up for an adventure (usually ending up at a house or bush party somewhere). You will be missed, Ian. RIP.

A week ago I arrived at work and was told Ian had moved on; each day since I have checked for this goodbye. My hope was to see a happy picture showing Ian having a great time - this one seems perfect.
I don't have fun memories to share as we were only co-workers, but I really appreciated getting to know Ian more over the last few years. Our talks were always quick, but it was nice going from strangers to being able to chat about holidays, family, and just how one another's day was going.
Meghan, Mom & Dad, Brother, Sister and friends - I'm sorry for your broken hearts. I wish you strength each day as you move forward.
Ian - I hope your next life is beautiful....fast cars, lake days, and warm beaches.

To the entire family words cannot express how sorry we are for your loss. Ian was so young and his laugh will forever stick in my mind. We, like most, lost touch after school but our paths did cross many times over the years. I have many memories of fun crazy times during our school years. Swan Hills was a great place to grow up and there was never a shortage of bush parties (burning tires for fire) and house parties where the music was so loud you couldn't even talk to each other. Today I will toast to you my friend. Rest in peace.

Rest In Peace Ian....Thank you for all our childhood memories in Swan Hills. The bush parties, school dances, parties at Barrett’s house and being my partner for our Grade 9 Fairwell, all great memories....you will be missed by so many 😢

It’s crazy this happened? How? So many questions unanswered. Ian and I were best friends when we were young going to school. I got him into road hockey and cheering for the Edmonton Oilers. His favourite player was Esa Tikkanen #10. Did lots of stupid crap with Ian. Lol. He was a crazy guy. As we got older we didn’t talk anymore and life got in the way. I want to say my condolences to his family and especially Megan. Rest In Peace Ian. Gone to soon.

I went to school with Ian, and I knew him for 20 plus years. I have so many memories of him from shaving his basketball number in his hair to listening to GNR" use your illusion" Cd's. We had lots of laughs, and talked hours on the phone when we were younger. As teenagers, we used to all hang out at magic waters; it was a place where we all had many laughs. As adults we didn't talk as much because our lives took us different places. It was nice to touch base last summer when you came to visit. You will leave a lasting smile on my sons heart with your kindness and of course letting him borrow your Hot wheels speed gun, and he thought the world of that. I can't believe you are gone, and gone way to soon. May you rest in peace. We send our love to Megan, your mom and dad, Jerry and family, Rhonda and family, and all the peoples' lives you touched.
