Jennie Veenstra

Jennie was born August 5, 1933 in Neerlandia, Alberta to Henry and Gladys Strydhorst. She was the first of 13 children. Jennie married Arend Dec 22, 1953. She leaves to mourn her 5 children, Dorothy Bacon, Lambert (Loretta) Veenstra, Angie (Al) Breitkreitz, Carolyn (Brian) Aarsen, Henry (Bernie) Veenstra.

Jennie was loved and will be greatly missed by her many remaining siblings, grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

She was predeceased by her husband Arend, her parents, brother George, grand daughter Candace, brother Andy and brother Jake.

Jennie grew up on a farm north of Neerlandia, in a time before electricity and running water. Jennie learned how to be thrifty and hard working. She never wasted anything, not even KFC buckets or butter wrappers.

Jennie loved gardening, picking wild berries and baking. She loved to travel and went on many trips and cruises with family to Hawaii, Mexico and Holland.

Funeral Service will be held Thursday August 10, 2023 at Neerlandia Christian Reformed Church at 1:00 pm. Interment to follow.
