John's Career at McKillican
I met john when we both worked at Fyfe Smith Hardwood in the early 1970's. A few months after starting McKillican I invited John to join the company in 1979. That began John’s career at McKillican and a story that has lasted 42 years.
In the early days John wore lots of hats… pitching in and doing whatever needed to be done. Over the years that become a trademark of John… That work ethic John displayed then & throughout his career was one of his defining qualities.
In our lives and careers what defines us is the person we become, not achievements or titles or personal accomplishments. This is true of John and through his and career was marked by the person he was and the effect he had on the people he worked with every day.

John was pleasant, friendly, dedicated and loyal. Known for his understated demeanor, the honesty and respectful way he conducted himself and willingness to help and support others.
John was beloved by McKillican Staff and highly respected by Suppliers Customers all over North America.

John will be missed everyday at McKillican and we feel proud and blessed to have had John as our associate and our friend and all remember will John for the positive force he was in all our lives. We will miss John's smile which he displayed to everyone who walked in his office door.

Everyone at McKillican send their love and condolences to the family at this difficult time .

Knowing John for the past 9 years has been truly great. Having a business relationship with John I still was able to learn a tremendous amount about him as a person. He was extremely loyal to his employees and to me during our business relationship. I will miss our calls when his sly sense of humor would come out. To a gentile kind soul that will be dearly missed. John RIP. You will be missed. Thoughts and prayers to John's family.

My most sincere condolences to his family.
I will always never forget John after working with him for 13 plus years, from the time the Hayward branch opened at Mc Killican’s , he was always so helpful and patient with all our crazy questions.
John you will be greatly missed but never forgotten, you were the best.

I have known John since I was a kid and always admired his love of the outdoors and his welcoming smile that was always present when when I saw him over the years.
I last spoke with John about his adventure hunting Bison and his telling of the story is a great memory to have. Sending my condolences to Linda and all his family.

Dear Linda & Family:

I was so sorry to hear of Johns health problems in your Christmas letter..........then when Lorna called about his passing, I was greatly saddened. You have been in my thoughts a lot these days and memories of the Gulf years bring tears often. Reading the accolades from Johns co-workers touched my heart - you were blessed with a great husband (Chooch) and the memories will help you through!

Words don’t seem to adequately express my sincerest sympathies to Linda and John’s family. I am so sorry for your loss of this kind and gentle man. I had the honour of working with John for nearly 20 years before I retired and he was a rock - dedicated to his work, always the first one in the office and always a smile on his face! He always had time to help and was a mentor and role model to so many of us. Rest In Peace John . And to your family , may the memories of John help you through this most difficult time.

A man who took in strays and loved them like they were his own. Spending time sliding down the hills with us kids and laughing the whole way, all the way to sitting/ standing and walking down memory lane at the reunions. We has an wingless angel with us for a short time, and now we have an angel with full wings watching us forever. A man who was loved and will never be forgotten. his kindness and love will live on in all the lives he touch. We will miss you.
