Lorne Delmar Sutherland

December 20, 1930 – July 26, 2012

Mr. Lorne Sutherland of Barrhead, AB passed away at the age of 81 years.

Lorne a son to William & Jennie (nee Thompson) Sutherland, was married at the Mystery Lake Lutheran Church in June 26, 1952 to his wife Emily (nee Kruschel). He enjoyed working on the farm and also worked out driving truck and roadside mowing. He was involved with the Barrhead Light Horse Association and was a leader of the Barr-West 4-H Light Horse Club.

He is survived by his mother, Jennie Sutherland; daughter, Lorna (Jeff) Chance; sons, Randy (Karin), Rick, Del (Diane), Perry, Hal (Marjie), Jamey (Heidi) and Cliff (Gregoria); brother, Charles (Carol Larkins) Sutherland; sisters, Leona (Jim) Stocking, Mae (Ewald) Kelm, Eileen (Bob) Domke, Elvina (Joe) Mahar, Jeanette (Fritz) Kummer; 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Wilbert Kruschel and Marvin (Marlene) Kruschel; also numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. Lorne is predeceased by his wife, Emily in 1982; father, William “Bill” Sutherland in 1987; Brother-in-law, Jim (Leona) Stocking in 2007; sister-in-law, Mabel (Wilbert) Kruschel in 2006; daughter-in-law, Judy (Perry) Sutherland in 2008.

A Visitation will be held 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2012 in the Rose Garden Chapel. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, August 2, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in Barrhead United Church, officiated by Pastor Bryan Logan.
