Lorraine Gladys Manz
February 9, 1938 – October 9, 2020
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Lorraine Manz announces her sudden passing at the Barrhead Hospital on October 9, 2020 at the age of 82, surrounded by her loving family. Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, cousin, & friend was loved by all who knew her & will be missed beyond measure. Lorraine was born & raised in Barrhead, married her high school sweetheart Dave Manz in 1956 & together they raised 3 wonderful children. Once they were all in school, Lorraine began her 25+ years in the banking world where she cultivated meaningful lifelong friendships. Lorraine lived for her family making every holiday an extravaganza of amazing food, fun & awesome presents! Lorraine loved her flowers working tirelessly in her yard & had many bird feeders to entice the birds she loved to watch from her kitchen window, the humming birds were her favorite. Lorraine kept the books for her & Dave’s logging company & for a time in the summer enjoyed playing golf, while in the winter curling kept her active & social, again making new friends along the way with her friendly, engaging personality. Lorraine & Dave were blessed to have a group of lifelong friends with whom they loved to play cards & go camping with, generally celebrating the good times as well as supporting each other in the bad. Lorraine loved being a grandmother to her wonderful 8 grandchildren putting her heart & soul into it & was grateful to have lived to enjoy her 6 beautiful great grandchildren as well. She is survived by her husband, of 63 years Dave; daughter, Donna Zubot (Bryan); son, Ken Manz (Lois); grandchildren, Darren Manz (Abbi), Darrell Manz (Billie), Josh Loitz (Courtney), Gina Loitz (Barry), Evan Zubot, Shaun Yonkers (Heather), Noah Manz & Regan Manz (Skyler); 6 great grandchildren, Arianna, Elsi, Ryan, Ronnie, Jack & Oliver. Lorraine is predeceased by her brother, Wayne Frankson (1977); father, Melvin Frankson (1978); mother Evelyn Frankson (2005) & 1st born son, Ron Manz (2011). Should you wish donations may be made in her memory to The Heart & Stroke Foundation.

“My heart aches for you and your family during this time. Your mother was such an amazing person and she will truly be missed, My condolences.”
Since the news of Aunties passing I have been reminiscing of celebrations when the Manz family got together. I remember Aunties wonderful meals. Her infectious laugh. Her kindness and also the fun she seemed to have giving my Dad a hard time
I also smile when I remember her always having new pictures of her beloved grand babies
I am very sad that due to covid I will not attend the service. I know with limited space there will be many people who will need to be there ahead of me.
Sending my hugs and love

Addendum, I would be remiss if I didn't mention a wonderful stand up man, Ron Manz. He was a joy to be around. He had this special gift in not feeling sorry for him self going through such a disabling decease called cancer. One Thangsgiving , my family and some friends were sitting in the back yard at one of my daughters place in Barrhead when in comes this vehicle just roaring in, the door flew open and this guy came running to me, giving me a big hug and a kiss on my cheek. I was set aback because I hadn't seen him for awhile although we talked on the phone. I had to ask, who is that? I was told, and then I saw this crazy tall man just having fun. We were happy that he could sit and eat dinner with us, as we said a prayer before we ate and asked God for Ron to get well. He did for a few more years. This addendum is two fold. If there is any thing good coming out of Lorraine's death is that Ron was there at the heavenly gate with open arms saying ''MOM'' come on in to this home it is so beautiful. There are acres and acres of land for you to have your garden and sit and watch the humming birds in full fashion. We will be able to have so much fun and laughter. No more pain, no more crying. I love you so much and I am over joyed that you came to be with me and the rest of our family. AMEN.

Dave and Family, First and foremost my deepest sincere condolences, What can I say. 60 some years of friendship. You were the first couple we met when Mel and I got married. How many times in the late fifty's did we get together, play cards, go to socials, go camping, go on a Alaska cruise, and giving me a room every time I came to Barrhead. Always some good and wonderful meals. We have laughed and we have cried. My dear friend Dave, I always said you were like my brother. You just told such good stories with a straight face while all who were listening were cracking up. Donna and Kenny, I wiped your butts. Kenny, I remember you in the basement in your old house ironing your money. Donna, what other kid had a easy bake oven and your mother made sure you had the pretties dress. Lorraine and I always gave each other birthday and Christmas gift's.. One special was a hand made blanket , leaving a note saying'' every stitch I was thinking of you.'' How many times her and I would sit having coffee talking about this and that. We are both cry babies. Tears came so easily and fast and in a second we were having a good belly laugh. My dear Manz family, I am having a total melt down right now knowing how the up coming days will be so difficult. Love is the price we pay when losing some one . God's speed my friends. See you soon. I will honor Lorraine by talking to others and keeping her spirit alive. Rest in piece my friend. Keep a spot open in your heavenly garden till we meet again. You had the best friend in me and I the same. You will stay in my heart forever. Angela Cramer.
