Walter was a great man.  We loved spending time with him and Dorothy.  Great visits, wonderful sense of humour.  We will always treasure their advice and friendship.  Will never forget when we were over for coffee and he walked out outside to shoot a porcupine, he came back in and told Dorothy to get the camera, the porcupine was bigger than a five gallon pail.  That year in our Christmas card was a photo of the porcupine.....right next to a five gallon pail. Great people who will live on in our memories.  Thoughts and prayers to the family.

So sad to hear of Walter's passing. So many of his generation from the lake are gone. Those who made our childhood at Lac La Nonne a time packed with wonderful memories  All our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of your loss.

So sorry to hear of your loss of your father and grandfather,  love and hugs to all, sorry we can't make it to the funeral.

Walter and Dorothy were long time friends at Lac La Nonne as we all became Lake Family. Walter was always so kind to children on the beach, pulling them in his "barrel made" train cars as he tooted his train whistle. For the adults, he always had words of wisdom, "walterisms". Special prayers and hugs from the Woolridge, Kinal and Majeau families.

He was a wonderful childhood friend.  My condolences to the family.

Walter was an impressive man. He maintained his good nature and smile no matter what was thrown at him. He dealt with all with an even and temperate hand. His loss of Dorothy must have been crumbling to his soul, as it would be for anyone who had experienced the joy of living such a great life with a wonderful partner. He will be remembered fondly by me, and my family, for he touched us all. Love and tears for all of you especially Ken, Laura, and Cory and your children.

So sad to hear of Walter's passing.  His hearty laugh and gruff but easy going nature will be treasured and missed.

When we lose someone close we are filled with a grief so large that at times it's hard to even imagine that the world is still turning while yours seems to have collapsed.  But, each time you cry or grieve, a little bit of that heartache will be released.  You will always miss him and while the sorrow will never totally disappear, little by little the grief that fills your heart today will be replaced by the comforting and happier memories you shared with him.  

Just know that we are thinking of you all and hoping you find strength from the support of each other and those who care.

Our deepest sympathies go out to the Kirchner and Zado families.  We will treasure the memories that we have of Walter.  We were blessed to know him and proud to be part of his lake family.
