Wayne Cornelius Fisher

July 4, 1949January 10, 2020

It is with heavy hearts that we share the sudden passing of Wayne Cornelius Fisher on January 10, 2020 at the age of 70 years. Wayne was predeceased by his mother, Elizabeth and Father Cornelius Fisher. He leaves behind to mourn his death, his loving wife of 47 years, Hendrene Fisher, and his 4 dear children, Tammy Tuininga, Mona Chittick, husband (Raymond), Brent Fisher, wife (Krista), Greg Fisher, wife (Nichole). He also leaves behind, 12 grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Amy, Alyssa, Nolan, Jenna, Colby, Autumn, Cruz, Crimson, Mya, Hudson and Huntley. Wayne was a brother to Joe, Betty, Bernice and Janet. Wayne was born on July 4, 1949 and was raised on a farm just outside of Neerlandia , where he met Hendrene, fell in love and married her. There, they raised their 4 kids and lived in a small trailer on the family farm across the yard from Wayne’s parents. Eventually, he took over the family farm. The same homestead Wayne grew up on is the same place he raised his own children. Eventually building a house and calling it a home of their own, there they planted their seeds. Wayne had a love for the outdoors and nature. When he wasn’t hunting, he was fishing whether it was on water or ice, he embraced every moment. He very much loved quadding, as well as boating, whether it was on the lake or the river. He had a passion for woodworking, where he built and created some amazing pieces. But what he loved most in life was to do all these things with his family. Wayne’s family was his number one priority in life. Wayne taught them everything he knew, leaving them with the tools so they could keep his memory alive in their own families. Words cannot describe the sadness we feel continuing this journey without him. He will be missed each and every day. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation, or Woofs Animal Rescue (IWARS). Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday January 17, 2020 from Neerlandia Christian Reformed Church with Pastor Art Verboon officiating.

My condolences to the family of Wayne. Praying for comfort for you at this time.

I have fond memories of Wayne stopping by the Ag office on occasion for a cup of coffee. He loved to talk farming, but I especially enjoyed when he would bring up a recent news story to get our opinion. He will be missed.

Dear Hendrene and family, your (grand)mother Roelie told us about the sudden death of Wayne. What a shock this is. We do remember Wayne as a person who was a silent enjoyer of the meetings at Roelie's, and we feel deeply sorry that you will miss him. May the Lord be with you and give you strength and comfort, especcially in the coming Friday and the days after.
Wees Gode bevolen!
