Wilma P Thompson

Wilma was born in Saskatoon, Sk June 14th 1928 to her parents Alec and Myrtle Irvine and grew up with her siblings Blanche and Jean. As a young lady, Wilma travelled all through Europe with her sisters, and was even invited to a Garden Party with the Queen! She started her teaching career in Jarvie, AB where she taught in a one room school house. Once settled into married life, she and Bill moved to Barrhead where she ended her teaching career and became a fabulous full time mother. Education was important to her so she served on the Barrhead Public School Board for many years. She loved sewing, knitting and crafting in general. She had a wicked sense of humor and was blessed to have many friends. She was an avid reader and was a dedicated mother to her son Rod and daughter Shauna. She will be greatly missed by all those who loved her.

Wilma is survived by her son Rod & his Wife Susan and daughter Shauna & her Husband Ed, and her grandchildren Katie, Olivia and Amy, as well as, her sister Jean.

Funeral Services will be held from Barrhead United Church Saturday, January 28, 2017 @ 1 PM.
